Pontiac, MI (May 6, 2008) -- The Michigan Bucks started training Thursday, May 1, at Ultimate Soccer Arenas and are in preparation to begin the 2008 PDL campaign at Ultimate Soccer Arenas. We sat down with Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald to get his opinion on Saturday’s open tryouts, the upcoming friendly with the Windsor Borderstars, and his thoughts on Ultimate Soccer Arenas.
On the open tryouts:
"I was impressed with the turnout and the level of play that was on display today. We’ve invited a few guys back for training this next week and we’ll go from there. I was appreciative of the turnout and the dedication that these guys showed today."
On the upcoming exhibition match versus Windsor:
"The guys started training on Thursday, and I know that they’ll be eager to get some match fitness. Most of the guys from out of town won’t be with us on Friday as well as a few others, but it will still be a good test for us in a competitive game -- we’re all looking forward to playing for the first time as the Michigan Bucks in our new home at Ultimate Soccer."
On Ultimate Soccer Arenas as a facility:
"It’s great to finally have a place to call home. I’ve seen this place come together since they broke ground last July and to see the finished product is quite special. Playing here just adds to the prestige that comes along with being part of this organization and I know all of our players are excited to call Ultimate Soccer home."
