BUCKS LOSE 2-1 IN DAYTON
Give away first place to Lions in squandered opportunity

Dayton, OH (July 3, 2010)- The Michigan Bucks rolled into Dayton on Saturday night with a short handed side but a chance to move into first place in the Great Lakes Division with a win. After taking a 1-0 lead in the fifty-fifth minute, Dayton scored two goals in a ten minute span and held on for a 2-1 win that vaulted the Dutch Lions into first place. The result has created a log jam at the top of the Great Lakes Division with Dayton, Chicago, London and the Bucks all separated by only three points fighting for the two playoff spots available. Bucks leading scorer Kenny Uzoigwe added his ninth goal of the season early in the second half when he beat two Dayton defenders and slotted home a nice shot past Lions goal keeper Oscar Moens. It appeared that things might get a bit easier for the Bucks to hold the lead when defender Evan Schwartz was shown his second yellow card of the day, leaving Dayton with only 10 players the final half hour.

The Lions experience paid off as they exposed the Bucks depleted defense with two counter attack goals to put the home team in front for good. The Bucks would throw everyone forward the last ten minutes to try and equalize the score and should have in the waning moments. A ball fell to the feet of Uzoigwe from five yards out and his half volley sailed over the bar. The Bucks try to regroup by Wednesday night, when they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Kings in a must win match if the Bucks are going to have a chance to make any noise at the top of the Great Lakes Division.   The Bucks next home game will be Saturday, July 10 at Ultimate Soccer Arenas when they play the biggest match of the season against the Chicago Fire Premier. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM and tickets are on sales at Ultimate Soccer or through the Bucks web site at www.buckssoccer.com.
